Usage การใช้
งั้น (spoken form of อย่างนั้น) at the start of a clause means ‘in that case, then, so’. It reacts to what the other person just said. ถ้างั้น / ถ้าอย่างนั้น is the fuller form.

In that case, we can go tomorrow. - — วันนี้ร้านปิด — ถ้างั้นไปร้านอื่นเถอะ
The shop’s closed today. — Then let’s go somewhere else. - งั้นผมกลับก่อนนะ
Right, I’ll head home first, then. - ถ้าอย่างนั้น ผมจะโทรไปใหม่พรุ่งนี้ครับ
In that case, I’ll call again tomorrow.
Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต
งั้น is casual. In formal speech or writing, use ถ้าอย่างนั้น or ดังนั้น (TG267).
