Structure โครงสร้าง
- ตั้งแต่ + time / clause (since, from)
- ตั้งแต่ + A + ถึง / จนถึง + B (from A to B)
- ตั้งแต่ + … + (S) + ก็ + …
Usage การใช้
ตั้งแต่ marks the starting point in time (and sometimes in space or ranges): ‘since, from’. With ถึง / จนถึง it gives a range ‘from … to …’.

- ร้านเปิดตั้งแต่เก้าโมงถึงห้าโมงเย็น
The shop is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. - ผมอยู่เมืองไทยตั้งแต่ปี 2018
I’ve lived in Thailand since 2018. - ตั้งแต่เด็กจนโต เขาไม่เคยป่วยหนักเลย
From childhood to adulthood, he never had a serious illness. - ตั้งแต่ย้ายมาที่นี่ ผมก็ยังไม่ได้กลับบ้านเลย
Since moving here, I haven’t been home at all.
Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต
✗ Unnatural: ผมเรียนภาษาไทยตั้งแต่สองปี
✓ Use instead: ผมเรียนภาษาไทยมาสองปีแล้ว (I’ve been studying Thai for two years.)
Why: ตั้งแต่ needs a starting point, not a length of time. For a duration use V + มา + time + แล้ว (TG133).
