Structure โครงสร้าง
- เดี๋ยว + (S) + (จะ) + V (in a moment, soon)
- warning, + เดี๋ยว + bad result (or else)
- เดี๋ยวก่อน (wait a moment!)
- เดี๋ยวนี้ (right now / these days)
Usage การใช้
เดี๋ยว means ‘in a moment, shortly’ and is very common for promises: เดี๋ยวโทรกลับ ‘I’ll call you back shortly’.
After a warning or advice, it introduces the bad result: ‘or else, otherwise’.
เดี๋ยวก่อน means ‘Wait (a moment)!’. เดี๋ยวนี้ means ‘right now’ or, in other contexts, ‘nowadays’.

Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต
เดี๋ยวนี้ has two meanings. ไปเดี๋ยวนี้ = ‘go right now’. เดี๋ยวนี้คนใช้มือถือกันหมด = ‘nowadays everyone uses a mobile phone’.
As ‘or else’, เดี๋ยว is softer and more casual than ไม่งั้น (TG270).
