Structure โครงสร้าง
- นอกจาก + N / V + แล้ว, + S + ยัง + V + (ด้วย / อีก) (besides, in addition to)
- ไม่มี + … + นอกจาก + N (no … other than)
Usage การใช้
With ยัง … ด้วย / อีก in the main clause, นอกจาก … แล้ว means ‘besides, in addition to’: one thing plus another.
With a negative such as ไม่มีใคร, ไม่มีอะไร, it means ‘other than, except’.

Besides Thai, he can also speak Chinese. - นอกจากจะถูกแล้ว ยังอร่อยอีกด้วย

On top of the room rate, there’s also the electricity bill.
Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต
Keep ยัง (and ด้วย / อีก) in the main clause for the ‘in addition’ meaning. Without them the sentence can be read as ‘other than’.
