ซะ (เสีย)
“Go ahead and (finish it)”; completive command
Structure โครงสร้าง
- V + ซะ / เสีย (do it, finish it off)
- V + ซะ + ก่อน (do it first)
- เสีย / ซะแล้ว (… unfortunately / already, unexpectedly)
Usage การใช้
ซะ (spoken form of เสีย) after a verb in a command means ‘go ahead and do it (completely)’. It is direct, like a parent to a child: กินซะ ‘eat it up’.
In statements, especially with แล้ว, it expresses that something happened completely or regrettably: หมดซะแล้ว ‘it’s all gone already (unfortunately)’.
Examples ตัวอย่างประโยค
- กินซะ เดี๋ยวเย็นหมด
Eat it up before it gets cold. - ไปนอนซะ ดึกแล้ว
Go to bed, it’s late. - ร้านปิดซะแล้ว
The shop is already closed (unfortunately). - ทำการบ้านให้เสร็จซะก่อน
Finish your homework first.
Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต
As a command, ซะ is direct and can sound bossy. To adults or superiors, use a softer request such as ช่วย … หน่อย (TG173). เสีย is the written form.
