Adds urgency/politeness to a request (“please”)
Structure โครงสร้าง
- V (+ O) + ด้วย (+ นะ / ครับ / ค่ะ) (please, as well)
- ช่วยด้วย (Help!)
- ขอ + N + ด้วย (and … too, please)
Usage การใช้
At the end of a request, ด้วย adds ‘please’, often with a sense of ‘in addition’ or ‘don’t forget’. It is common when ordering, giving reminders and asking for help. ช่วยด้วย! is the standard cry for help.

Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต
ด้วย also has other meanings in other positions: ‘too / along with’ (ไปด้วย ‘go along’, TG021) and ‘with, by means of’ (เขียนด้วยปากกา, TG207). In a request at the end of the sentence, it is the polite ‘please’.
ด้วย vs หน่อย: ขอน้ำหน่อย sounds like a small favour (‘could I have some water?’), while ขอน้ำด้วย suggests ‘water as well’ or a reminder.
