“Both A and B”
Structure โครงสร้าง
- ทั้ง + A + และ + B
- ทั้ง + A + ทั้ง + B (spoken)
- ไม่ + V + ทั้ง + A + และ + B (neither … nor)
Usage การใช้
‘Both A and B’. It works with adjectives, verbs and nouns. In speech the second word is often ทั้ง again: ทั้งถูกทั้งอร่อย.
With a negative it means ‘neither … nor’.

I can speak both Thai and Chinese.
Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต
- ทั้ง … และ … is neutral; ทั้ง … ทั้ง … is more colloquial and common with adjectives. In formal writing, ทั้ง … และ … is preferred.
- With ไม่, the whole phrase means ‘neither … nor’: ไม่กินทั้งเนื้อและหมู.
