Usage การใช้
อย่าง + adjective turns the adjective into a manner adverb, like English ‘-ly’. It is typical of careful or written Thai and of longer, abstract adjectives: อย่างตั้งใจ ‘attentively’, อย่างระมัดระวัง ‘carefully’, อย่างรวดเร็ว ‘rapidly’.
Short everyday adjectives (เร็ว, ช้า, ดี) normally follow the verb directly with no อย่าง (TG231). In casual speech แบบ can replace อย่าง.

Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต
With short everyday adjectives such as เร็ว or ช้า, the adjective normally follows the verb directly: เขาวิ่งเร็ว. อย่าง + Adj sounds more formal and is most common with longer words: วิ่งอย่างรวดเร็ว.
