Usage การใช้
ในกรณีที่ means ‘in the event that, in case’. It is formal and found in rules, notices, contracts and announcements.
In everyday speech, use ถ้า for a condition and เผื่อ (TG272) for a precaution.

In the event of rain, the event will be moved to Sunday. - ในกรณีฉุกเฉิน กรุณาโทร 191
In an emergency, please call 191. - ในกรณีที่สินค้าชำรุด ลูกค้าสามารถเปลี่ยนได้ภายใน 7 วัน
If the product is defective, customers can exchange it within 7 days. - ในกรณีที่ไม่มีใบเสร็จ จะไม่สามารถคืนเงินได้
Without a receipt, refunds cannot be given.
Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต
✗ Unnatural: เอาร่มไปในกรณีที่ฝนตกนะ (to a friend)
✓ Use instead: เอาร่มไปเผื่อฝนตกนะ (Take an umbrella in case it rains.)
Why: ในกรณีที่ is official language. A casual precaution is เผื่อ.
