Question word + ดี (what / where should …?)

Asks for advice or a decision: “what / where / when should we …?”

Structure โครงสร้าง

  • (S) + จะ + V + Q-word + ดี ? (what / where / how should …?)
  • V + อะไรดี / ที่ไหนดี / ยังไงดี / เมื่อไรดี

Usage การใช้

Adding ดี after a question word asks for advice or for a decision: ‘what should we…?’, ‘what would be good…?’. It is very common when people are making plans together.

Examples ตัวอย่างประโยค

  1. เราจะไปกินที่ไหนดี
Where should we go to eat?
  2. กินอะไรดี
    What should we eat?
  3. จะบอกเขายังไงดี
    How should I tell him?
  4. ไปเที่ยวเมื่อไรดี
When would be a good time to go?

Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต

Without ดี, the question just asks for information: จะไปกินที่ไหน ‘Where are you going to eat?’ With ดี, it asks for an opinion or suggestion.
