… ที่แล้ว / ก่อน (ago)
“Last …; … ago”. “Ago” has three forms: time + ก่อน, time + ที่แล้ว, time + มาแล้ว (สามอาทิตย์ก่อน / ที่แล้ว / มาแล้ว)
Structure โครงสร้าง
- time + ที่แล้ว (last …: อาทิตย์ที่แล้ว)
- length of time + ก่อน / ที่แล้ว / มาแล้ว (… ago)
- เมื่อ + length of time + ก่อน (… ago, formal)
Usage การใช้
ที่แล้ว after a time unit means ‘last’: เดือนที่แล้ว ‘last month’. After a length of time, ก่อน, ที่แล้ว or มาแล้ว all mean ‘ago’: สามปีก่อน / สามปีที่แล้ว ‘three years ago’.
หน้า gives the opposite, ‘next’: อาทิตย์หน้า ‘next week’.

Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต
✗ Unnatural: ปีหน้าที่แล้ว
✓ Use instead: ปีที่แล้ว (last year)
Why: หน้า (next) and ที่แล้ว (last) can’t be combined.
‘Last night’ and ‘yesterday’ are special words: เมื่อคืน and เมื่อวาน.
