Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต
Position changes the meaning of เลย. Before the verb it means ‘so’: ผมเลยไป ‘So I went.’ After the verb it adds emphasis or ‘right away’ (TG112): ผมไปเลย ‘I’ll go right now / I went straight away.’ After ไม่ … it means ‘at all’ (TG094).
✗ Unnatural: หิวมาก ก็เลยผมกิน
✓ Use instead: หิวมาก ผมก็เลยกิน (I was hungry, so I ate.)
Why: The subject goes before ก็เลย.
