Usage การใช้
ช่าง before an adjective or verb makes an emotional exclamation: ‘how …!’, ‘you really are so …’. It can express admiration or exasperation, and is usually followed by จริง ๆ, เหลือเกิน or นะ.
The fixed phrase ช่างมัน / ช่างเถอะ means ‘forget it, never mind’.

Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต
The prefix ช่าง- meaning ‘craftsman’ (ช่างไม้ ‘carpenter’, TG009) is a different word.
✗ Unnatural: เมื่อวานอากาศช่างร้อนไหม
✓ Use instead: เมื่อวานอากาศร้อนไหม (Was it hot yesterday?)
Why: ช่าง is only for exclamations, not questions.
✗ Unnatural: อาหารร้านนี้ไม่ช่างอร่อย
✓ Use instead: อาหารร้านนี้ไม่ค่อยอร่อย (The food here isn’t very good.)
Why: ช่าง is not used with negation.
