เพื่อว่า / เพื่อให้
“So that”, usually with a different subject (compare เพื่อ + V)
Structure โครงสร้าง
- clause + เพื่อให้ + S + V / Adj (so that, different subject or a result)
- clause + เพื่อว่า + S + จะ + V (formal)
- clause + (S) + จะได้ + V (so that, spoken)
Usage การใช้
เพื่อให้ means ‘so that’. Use it when the purpose involves another person, or a resulting state, rather than the subject doing a second action (compare เพื่อ + V, TG282).
เพื่อว่า … จะ … is a more formal variant.
In conversation the most natural form is จะได้: รีบไปเถอะ จะได้ไม่ติดฝน.
