Usage การใช้
ไม่ยัก is colloquial and expresses that something did not happen although the speaker expected it to: ‘didn’t … after all’, ‘strangely, didn’t …’.

Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต
ไม่ยัก is casual and slightly old-fashioned. A common modern equivalent is ไม่ … อย่างที่คิด: ไม่เผ็ดอย่างที่คิด ‘not as spicy as I thought’.
