- ไม่ + V / Adj + หรอก (not really, not at all)
- ไม่ใช่ … หรอก (it’s not that …)
Usage การใช้
หรอก softens a negative statement. It often corrects what the listener thinks or reassures them: ‘no, not really’, ‘it’s not that…’, ‘don’t worry’. It only appears in negative sentences.

- ไม่แพงหรอก
It’s not (that) expensive. - ไม่เป็นไรหรอก
Don’t worry about it, it’s fine. - เขาไม่ได้โกรธหรอก แค่เหนื่อย
He’s not angry, really, just tired. - ไม่ใช่ผมหรอก เป็นน้องชายผม
It wasn’t me, it was my younger brother.
Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต
✗ Unnatural: อร่อยหรอก
✓ Use instead: อร่อยนะ / ไม่อร่อยหรอก (It’s tasty. / It’s not that tasty.)
Why: หรอก only goes with negatives. In a positive statement it is ungrammatical.
