Usage การใช้
ค่อนข้าง means ‘fairly, rather, quite’. It is weaker than มาก and is handy for polite or careful criticism: ค่อนข้างแพง ‘rather expensive’.
Unlike มาก, ค่อนข้าง comes before the adjective. In speech ค่อนข้างจะ is very common.

Today’s exam was fairly difficult. - อาหารร้านนี้ค่อนข้างแพง แต่อร่อย

She’s rather quiet; she doesn’t talk much.
Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต
พอสมควร (TG236) is close in meaning but comes after the adjective: แพงพอสมควร ≈ ค่อนข้างแพง.
✗ Unnatural: บ้านไกลค่อนข้าง
✓ Use instead: บ้านค่อนข้างไกล (The house is rather far.)
Why: ค่อนข้าง goes in front of the adjective.
