เพื่อ / เพื่อที่จะ
“In order to”
Structure โครงสร้าง
- V + เพื่อ + V (in order to, same subject)
- V + เพื่อที่จะ + V
- V + เพื่อ + N (for the sake of)
Usage การใช้
เพื่อ expresses purpose: ‘in order to’. The subject of both actions is the same. เพื่อที่จะ is a slightly longer, more emphatic form.
เพื่อ + noun means ‘for (the benefit of)’.
In casual speech Thais often leave purpose unmarked (ไปตลาดซื้อผัก) or use จะได้ ‘so that’. When the subject changes, use เพื่อให้ (TG291).
Examples ตัวอย่างประโยค

Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต
✗ Unnatural: แม่ทำงานหนักเพื่อลูกเรียนจบ
✓ Use instead: แม่ทำงานหนักเพื่อให้ลูกเรียนจบ (Mum works hard so that her child can graduate.)
Why: A different subject (ลูก) needs เพื่อให้.
