Usage การใช้
ลอง … ดู means ‘try (doing something) to see what it’s like’. It is common for suggestions and invitations: ลองชิมดู ‘have a taste’. ดู can be dropped.

Have a taste, it’s good. - ลองถามเขาดู

Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต
ลอง (try something out, experiment) vs พยายาม (TG160, make an effort): ลองพูดภาษาไทย ‘try speaking Thai (and see)’; พยายามพูดภาษาไทย ‘make an effort to speak Thai’.
