Frequency adverbs “often, sometimes, always”
Structure โครงสร้าง
- S + V + (O) + บ่อย (ๆ) (often)
- บางครั้ง / บางที + S + (ก็) + V (sometimes)
- S + V + เสมอ / ตลอด / ทุกครั้ง (always)
- S + ไม่ค่อย + V (rarely, not often)
Usage การใช้
บ่อย ‘often’ goes after the verb phrase. บางครั้ง / บางที ‘sometimes’ usually opens the clause, often followed by ก็ before the verb.
เสมอ ‘always’ goes at the end and is a little formal. In conversation people more often say ตลอด, ทุกครั้ง or เป็นประจำ ‘regularly’.
‘Rarely’ is normally expressed with ไม่ค่อย + V (TG093), not with a negated บ่อย.

Subtle differences ข้อสังเกต
บางที has a second meaning, ‘maybe’: บางทีเขาอาจจะไม่มา ‘Maybe he won’t come.’ Context decides.
เสมอ also means ‘equal / a draw’ in sports: สองทีมเสมอกัน.
✗ Unnatural: ผมบ่อยไปตลาด
✓ Use instead: ผมไปตลาดบ่อย (I go to the market often.)
Why: บ่อย follows the verb phrase.
✗ Unnatural: ผมไม่บ่อยไปตลาด
✓ Use instead: ผมไม่ค่อยไปตลาด (I don’t go to the market much.)
Why: ‘Rarely / not often’ is ไม่ค่อย + V. (ไปตลาดไม่บ่อย is also acceptable.)
