เพิ่ง

“Just” (very recently). Before a time or number it also means “only” (เพิ่งสามโมง “It's only three o'clock”)

Structure โครงสร้าง

  • S + เพิ่ง + V (just, only just)
  • เพิ่ง + time / number (only, as early as)
  • เพิ่ง + V + เอง (only just, emphatic)

Usage การใช้

เพิ่ง before a verb means the action happened very recently: ‘just’. Adding เอง stresses it: เพิ่งมาเอง ‘I only just got here.’

Before a time or number it means ‘only, no more than’: เพิ่งสามโมง ‘it’s only three o’clock’.
